- 7,000 MTpolished whole turmeric
- 5,000 MTturmeric powder

01The brief
Multi-lakh bids, and buyer onboarding spread across WhatsApp.
Sudha Mahesh Thakkar receives multi-lakh bids from buyers in India and in other countries. Each buyer needed the same things: capacity, products, process and a way to order. Those lived in documents sent one at a time over WhatsApp.
02The problem
Scattered across WhatsApp
A buyer weighing a multi-lakh order had to piece the company together from separate WhatsApp documents. The information existed, but not in one place a buyer could open and check.
03Before and now
Before
- Buyer onboarding documents scattered across WhatsApp chats
- The company pieced together from separate messages
Now
- Capacity, products and process on one website
- A quote request and WhatsApp one tap away
04The design choice
Why it looks plain, on purpose.
The client asked for a website that builds trust with Indian buyers, is simple to understand, and stays light on a phone. They did not want a 3D or scroll-driven site.
We say it plainly: this is a conventional business layout, and it looks like one. That was the brief, and we think it was the right one. A buyer who has never heard of the company should know where to look within seconds: capacity, products, process, contact.
We could have built something flashier. It would have loaded slower, been harder to use on a phone, and asked the buyer to admire the site when they came to check the facts. So we followed the brief: a familiar layout, plain language, large numbers, and nothing that makes a buyer wait or hunt.
Build trust
For Indian buyers placing large orders, the site had to look established and steady, not experimental.
Keep it simple
Nothing for a buyer to figure out. Capacity, products, process and contact, in that order.
Stay light on phones
The page is plain HTML and CSS with no scripts. In our test, the text was on screen in about half a second.
05The goal
Let a bulk buyer see the capacity, the products and the process in one visit, and ask for a quote straight away.
06Our approach
How we approached it.
Lead with capacity.
The numbers a buyer cares about come first: yearly output, the polishing and powder lines, and the supply behind them.
Show the range.
A catalogue of five products: turmeric powder, finger, bulbs, curcumin powder and high-curcumin finger.
Walk through the process.
Five stages from buying at the farm gate to storage, polishing, powdering and dispatch, so a buyer can see how the turmeric is made.
Make asking easy.
A contact button in the header, a request-a-quote prompt after each section, and a WhatsApp button that follows the visitor down the page.
07What we built
What a buyer sees.
-
Capacity first
The home page opens on the processor’s scale and a clear way to reach sales.

-
Why buyers choose them
Five points on sourcing, storage, processing, wholesale readiness and years in the trade.

-
Capacity, laid out
Total output, split into polishing and powder lines, next to a photo of the warehouse.

-
Works on a phone
The same page on a phone, with the contact button and WhatsApp always in reach.

Products in the catalogue
- Turmeric powder
- Turmeric finger
- Turmeric bulbs
- Curcumin powder
- Finger, high curcumin
08The result
Where it stands.
The site is live at smturmeric.com. Buyers in India and abroad can now find the capacity, products and process in one place, instead of in separate WhatsApp documents. We have no enquiry or sales figures to report, so this study makes no claims about them.
